Stockport feature in Cheshire Life

Just a short post to say thank you to Cheshire Life magazine for the Stockport feature in Cheshire Life magazine.

Although there is a long list of independent bars and shops mentioned in the article there are many more for you to discover when you visit.

It’s great that we already know Stockport has a great offering, now you can find out too.

An extract from the article about Old Town General Store:

“Further down the Underbanks, you’ll find Old Town General Store, an independent Lifestyle business owned by Tony Murray. ‘I live in Cheadle but when I was looking for a spot for the shop, premises kept coming up in Stockport, and I’m happy to of taken one,’ Tony says. The council has a real plan to help the residents and town centre business community and you can see it coming together.

With experience working in. Luxury menswear at Flannels, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, Tony is bringing his expertise to Stockport and delivering a warm welcome to his customers. ‘I choose to stock a lot of heritage brands - ones that have a story behind them because I like telling my customers about them and hearing their thoughts. That customer interaction is new to me, but it’s one of my favourite things about having this store’.

Tony is also planning pop-up events to give local artisan creators a space to showcase their work - ‘that gives my customers something new to discover, and allows artisans a space to display their work’
