This September, some of the city’s coolest fashion brands and retailers will be taking over the first floor of Union coliving apartments for its first in a series of events called ‘Souls Sampled’ which will celebrate the city’s rising talent. Launching with the ‘Kicks n Garms edition’, imagine a department store party bringing together the best of Manchester’s clothing and sneaker scene with fire threads, fresh kicks, and exclusive finds.

Creating this playlist was a joy. I have tried to curate something that reflects my music taste- varied, to say the least. Being from Halifax I had to dedicate a song from The Orielles and The Working Men's Club (who are more Hebden Bridge, but fit the bill all the same). There are hits from a bygone era with Curtis Mayfield and Camille Yarbrough's timeless classics getting a feature.
